Teaching creating a good song has been a passion of mine for about 2 years now. I have noticed that teaching the mechanics involves breaking down all the aspects of a good song and which makes them newbie friendly.
One of these simple aspects is the song lyrics that we find many people battle with. I think the main reason is really because no one has ever broken the task down to make it easy. Step one: Work on your concept
When writing song lyrics, it is important to know exactly where you want correctly to go. You would not go to Africa without first picking out going first would you? So why would you start writing without knowing where you want to go? Here is the most important step and it shapes not simply the mood of the song lyrics but the words you will use within them.
When doing this, try your very best to be as specific as you can. Instead of writing a song about love, write an audio lesson about getting your heartbroken from your girlfriend, or falling in love with your neighbor. The reason why you should be specific is because broad titles usually doesn't inspire more material. Currently talking about heartbreak brings more heartbreak thoughts. You dumping someone, your parents getting a divorce, or even debating on leaving someone when they have cheated. My point is, end up specific.

Step two: Start writing
Figure out how to write a good song by playing good songs. Tune in to the words they chose because of their topics and how their words flow. Once you have a feeling for what great song lyrics appear to be, start applying them to your composition. Do not concern yourself if this takes you a while it is normal. It takes lots of practice before this can be achieved within an hour. I have had occasions where We have written a whole song within 30 minutes. My secret was the fact I started with step one which is very important. Specific concepts bring their particular lyrics with more practice.
Final Step: Tweak your work and develop your title
Reread your song lyrics aloud and have yourself questions about song structure, melody, and rhythm. Attempt to hum your main melody around someone for quite a while and ask for their input. I have discovered that the best melodies find yourself being hummed by the person you let participate in it.
Once you feel like you've great song lyrics, produce your title. I save titles for last because sometimes song lyrics let you know many titles. Sometimes you will find there's phrase that defines your composition and often the concept itself does. Your title can be as important as your song lyrics so take some time with it.
